McCartney 3,2,1 – “Deleted Scenes”

This summer, I became obsessed with the McCartney 3,2,1 series on HULU; a 6-part documentary where Sir Paul dives into the minutia of Beatles & solo songs with producer, Rick Rubin. I loved how in-depth, playful & charming the series was. Paul would find sounds hidden in old mixes of Beatles songs he didn’t know existed, then show the audience how “easy” some of the music was to play. It was some of the most unique, and yet remarkably simple television I’ve ever seen.

I had never impersonated Paul McCartney before, having focused more on the similar voices of John Lennon & George Harrison. But upon watching McCartney 3,2,1, I was inspired to take on Paul’s indelible personality & voice, specifically how he sounded and acted at almost 80 years young.

These three videos are the results of new experiments not only an actor, but a filmmaker, as I tried to mimic the look of documentary, from the black & white presentation, to the background setting, to the candid flow.

Please enjoy the magical mystery tour of Beatles secrets that seem so absurd, but are oddly close to the truth…

Oh, and be on the lookout for my turn as the Fab Four, as the GET BACK doc from Peter Jackson arrives this fall on Disney+.
